Caleb John Samples Solid Food

At four months, our pediatrician gave us the go signal with solid food for Caleb. So, after his check up for his shot and a routine check up with his pedia, we went home with a plan in the afternoon. I picked up his mama from work around six and stopped over at SM Megamall to buy some of his stuff, especially his Milk & Wheat and Rice & Soya flavored Cerelac and a can of formula milk. For weeks now he hasn’t been pooping regularly without extra help from suppositories and we’ve brought up the issues with the doctors seeing him. We’ve tried increasing his water intake thinking it could help improve his bowel movement, but it didn’t do much. With doctors’ recommendations, we had to change formula milk brands and hoping the extra solid food in his diet could curb his irregularities back to normal. If this doesn’t work, one of his doctors recommended a Barium enema and if that comes through with something, a BIOPSY should follow to confirm! So, changing milk brands and the solid food SHOULD work.
The day following the first Cerelac feeding and one night of shifting to Similac from S-26, he finally pooped on his own.Normal poop, no diarrhea, no vomiting. The experience is complete with a red face and grunts! We couldn’t be happier seeing a yellow and greenish goo that came from his bombom.
His first feeding was enjoyable as he fills up his face with facial expressions showing his enthusiasm (or dismay) with the experience. We also need to learn these expressions and learn what they mean!
