Yellow and brown. That was the color theme for the wedding. With the weather well entering summer, it was a warm Sunday afternoon wedding. There were well familiar faces both in the church and in the reception, many people from where they both work. More notably for us, they used the same photo/video team that we used for me and my wife’s wedding, same make-up artist, and same bridal car!!! There was a white 1964 well preserved Mustang outside the church that we just couldn’t resist having our photos taken with, I am not going to mention who’s but I was sure glad to having seen one. Everything, aside from the tires, were all original. It was in good condition.
The ceremony and the reception were both carried out in order, no hang-ups at least distinctly noticeable ones. As Paolo mentioned, there were surprises for the guests who stayed-up during the reception. One thing is for sure, they like videos. There was even a video that’s videoke inspired, the song lyrics would come up in tempo with the slideshow. I would’ve taken more pictures but my camera died in the middle of the reception. We all ended up with a nightcap back seeing Tammy and having coffee, banoffee and cheesecake.
Cheers to the newlyweds!
I baked some banana bread, (the recipe I found mentioned banana bar) last Sunday. With some of the batter we put in muffin tins just to see how they turn out. Unfortunately, it came out too light in color and the texture was slightly off. So yesterday I made another batch modifying the recipe, adding more bananas and folding in the flour instead of machine mixing. Now, that was good banana bread.
I watched the Oscars simulcast on a local channel. The delay was terrible because the winners were already announced on the website but the ’simulcast’ wasn’t finished yet.
Hugh Jackman’s performances were very entertaining… And yeah, musicals are back. If I heard it right from one of the emcees, Mamma Mia got more ticket sales in the UK than Titanic. Now, that is something to think about.
The first time we made this trip, we stayed not more than two hours in the park. This time we prepared and even came early.
We were able to do much more, too! Me and Timmy had a chance to brave the zip line and jumped across the spillway. The few seconds of thrill didn’t even give me an adrenaline rush. Nonetheless, it is an addition to my been-there-done-that list. The sun was still too hot for the wall climb, maybe next time.
I made a movie of all the pictures and clips of Rochelle’s ultrasound when she had her pre-natal check-up a few weeks ago. It was routine to check for congenital anomalies. She’s progressing normally on her pregnancy, however, the size of my son was slightly bigger that what we expected.
Last Saturday, the 10th, we had a scheduled visit to my wife’s obstetrician. Unfortunately, my wife’s doctor wasn’t able to come to her clinic because of an imminent delivery she couldn’t leave. So our original schedule of a morning check-up was postponed in the afternoon. Not to mention we had to visit her in a different clinic.
So there we were, with gel on my wife’s tummy, a quick check of his other features and the ultrasound was maneuvered to his important parts of the hour. There it was, a small protrusion between his legs. It’s another boy!
From the two lines, now a blur image, I can’t wait to see a clear image of him using 4D imaging. Maybe in a few more months.
To count, we’ve been to four Christmases (just like the movie), one children’s party, a family reunion, a family trip, hours of shopping and a wedding this past Christmas season. Not to mention the other out-of-towns, eat outs and night-outs.It was an arduous season.
The wedding we went to was the Tibayan-Torres nuptials, my college friend Rhina’s wedding. It was a morning wedding at St. Jerome Parish. It was a long time since we’ve seen so many of the college bunch together in one time, even Jack was there.Winlie made a photo-finish entry, straight from the SUV that brought to her to the church straight to the entourage line, her timing was impeccable!
The weather was accommodating, inspite the slight drizzle during the ceremony, there was no significant downpour.I never broke a sweat despite the barong tagalong I wore (courtesy of my brother Milo, I lent mine which didn’t make it back for the wedding).
After the reception, we went to Tagaytay, to Tawen’s, to continue with the revelry and more food (and booze).A nightcap in Alabang Town Center followed courtesy of the birthday boy Gerry.

Being the holidays, the place was packed! From the entrance to getting tickets to entering the exhibits! Inspite of this, we trudged on with undampened spirits. It was a very good opportunity to take my mother-in-law and nephew out!
It was dinner at Max’s in Malate afterwards.
The last part of the video shows Kyle posing for pictures prepped up on a high chair.
I was delegated to prepare this by no less than my wife, at first, unbeknownst to me. I was happy to oblige, putting my limited culinary skills to the test. I had some help from my sister-in-law, Micah, for proportions and consistency.
It took about 3 days, buying ingredients, preparing, baking and packing them up. We made about 600 pieces nicely packed in boxes. I also made my some of my Double Chocolate muffins, also to be given away to my wife’s officemates.
Her cousin ‘ordered’ crinkles and muffins when she saw and tasted what we made when she came to visit this morning!
Cedric Diggory (from Harry Potter, that’s for the non-Harry Potter fans) is revived as a vampire and now calls himself Edward Cullens.
First and foremost, this is a chick flick, so be warned. No matter what synopses you’ve read or what raving reviews are out there, bottom line is , this is a chick flick. Dialogues are, well, scripted. Some lines are awkward, I believe that is a product of sticking with the book. Rewrite would’ve helped and good editing. The movie bordered on the Edward’s uncontrollable desire for Bella and him being a vampire. And them trying to work it out.
I noticed a flaw in the characterization of Edward Cullens about him being able to read minds. In one occasion he was able to read Bella’s mind but not the next. I would like to point the scene in the restaurant.
Unless you’re a fan of the book, I don’t recommend that you watch this movie. If you’re looking for more vampire-werewolf action, just wait for Underworld coming out next year.
